The calculator
One instrument, 2 tickers. Pick a ticker to open its full calculator — amount, buy date, sell date, monthly investing, and a share card.
What it computes
- Total return — split-adjusted and dividend-reinvested, the brokerage convention.
- Exact dates — trading-day precision on the most-followed tickers; month-end resolution everywhere else (always labeled).
- Dollar-cost averaging — add a fixed amount at each month-end and see what steady hands earned.
- Best and worst timing — the perfect and terrible entry points inside your window.
- Regret verdict — from "you actually won by selling" to "legacy-level".
How to share a result
Every result has a URL that re-opens it, and a downloadable PNG card. The card shows the ticker, the amount, and the number — made for the group chat where someone sold in 2020.
Honest limits
- No taxes or trading fees are modeled.
- Where daily data is unavailable, dates resolve to the nearest month-end close — the page says so explicitly.
- Nothing is a recommendation. Past performance is a fact; future performance is a guess.
